Detroit (MI) firefighters at the scene of a Box in Southwest Detroit on 2/20/23 at 9137 Falcon Street X Elsmere Street. Engine 33 advised they were stretching on a dwelling going throughout. Upon our arrival, companies were attempting to make a push through the front door, but were ordered out of the house b/o Chief 7. This appeared to be an occupied house that was firebombed. Engine 33 stretched, and Engine 37 fed Ladder 13 for tower operations.

On Thursday, February 9, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Evanston Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a fire in a multi-residential structure in the 900 block of Judson Ave.
First-responding companies encountered heavy fire on the third floor of the three-story courtyard complex and immediately called for additional resources to contain the threat. Based on advanced fire conditions and significant potential for fire spread, the alarm was upgraded to a third alarm within the first 12 minutes of being on the scene. Neighboring fire departments were called to assist with extinguishment and investigation, plus to respond to other emergency calls in Evanston. The fire was brought under control within the first hour of the incident.
Residents were able to exit the building safely upon arrival of fire crews, and no civilian injuries have been reported. During search and rescue efforts, two cats were found deceased within the fire unit. American Red Cross was notified to assist 13 displaced residents, offering mass care and shelter services. No firefighter injuries were reported.
The 900 block of Judson Ave. will remain closed until fire vehicles are finished with their investigation.
Insurance dramatically improves the ability of individuals affected by disasters to recover quickly. Fortunately, all residents affected by this incident had renter’s insurance. Community members are encouraged to check their insurance to ensure their coverage is up to date and covers the replacement cost of their belongings.
Pictures from the 3rd Alarm of Fire in the 900 block of Judson this morning. Great truck work from Evanston Truck Co. 22 and quick water on the fire from Engine Co. 24 helped save this building along with quick response times and properly staffed apparatus. Thank you to our neighboring fire departments that helped us save this building. Jensen Farm Rd. 2nd Alarm (Oxford, CT) 2/3/23 – firegroundimages
OXFORD, CT – At approximately 7:44pm on February 3, 2023, the Oxford Fire Department was dispatched to Jensen Farm Road for the reported house fire. First companies arriving on scene found a raging wind-driven fire in a large two-story private dwelling. Members dealt with temps in the single digits (6 degrees F and much lower with wind chill), causing frozen hydrants and massive water supply issues, as well as a heavy wind that just compounded the night’s difficulties. The fire escalated to a 2nd alarm which brought multiple mutual aid departments to the scene as well as for station coverage during the incident. The family of four that resides at this structure was not at home at the time of the fire.
Here are a few images from yesterday’s Still & Box with a Mayday Alert and EMS Plan I at 5539 S. Damen Avenue. One firefighter was transported in fair condition after the fire flashed through the front door. The building was a total loss.
The Nunda Rural FPD (IL) requested MABAS Box 5-1371 to the 3rd level for a fully-involved two-story residential home in Prairie Grove, IL around 10pm on 2/2/23. Tender operations were used since there were no hydrants in the area.
