Took in the 2-11 yesterday around 330am at 500 W 26th Street in Chicago. Fire was in a 3-sty ord building about 100×150. First-in companies attempted an interior attack but had trouble finding the seat of the fire. They ended up transitioning to an exterior attack and went defensive. At the height of the fire, 5 handlines, multiple portable ground monitors, Squad 1, AT8, TL5, and TL10 were used to try to get a handle on it. I arrived about 45 min into the job.
Still Companies were Engines 8 & 29, Trucks 4 & 8.

Waterford Ln. Fire (Shelton, CT) 1/14/21 SHELTON, CT – At approximately 12:44pm on January 14, 2021, the Shelton Fire Department was dispatched to Waterford Lane for a reported kitchen fire. First units on scene found heavy fire showing from two windows on the D-side of a wood frame private dwelling. All occupants and pets were reported out of the structure safely before FD arrival and an interior attack was commenced. Conditions deteriorated quickly as the fire spread rapidly throughout the home and all members were ordered out of the structure for a defensive attack. A mayday was called during overhaul operations when two firefighters broke through the fire ravished second floor. Neither were injured and the mayday was quickly cleared.

Around 2300 hrs on 11/14/21, we caught a box in the 2nd Battalion @ 6414 Heyden X Ann Arbor Trail on the far southwest side of the city. Engine 55 reported a dwelling going throughout on their arrival. We made it there after the initial knockdown, but the Chief was just pulling companies out. The fire was running through the attic and sounded like the interior crews were having trouble gaining access to it. Chief 2 pulled everyone out, they regrouped and made another push, as well as an exterior line into the attic window on the front of the house.
Companies on the box were as follows: Engines 55, 57, and 34, Ladder 27, Squad 1, Chief 2, and DEMS.

11/29/21 Pearl River, NY – Firefighters originally received this call as an AFA, but companies found fire involving the insulation in the basement of the Rise Shooting Range. Firefighters had a difficult time accessing the fire, which continued to grow and intensify. Multiple holes were made in the store floors in an attempt to fill the basement with hi-ex foam. This attempt was futile.
Twelve hours later, conditions continued to worsen forcing an exterior attack to be undertaken. Three aerial ladders, a tower ladder, and multiple 2.5″ hand lines operated into multiple storefronts for hours. The fire eventually erupted in various stores and through the roof before being brought under control after a wrecking crew was brought in to expose hot spots.
