Firefighters battled fire in a 4-car garage in Killdeer, IL 3-5-25. The home was located in an area without hydrants and over a 1/4 down a dead-end street. A rural water supply operation was setup to resupply firefighters after they exhausted almost 5,000 gallons of water from the 1st three suppression rigs that arrived.
Thirteen tankers were involved, and firefighters kept the fire to the garage with minimal damage to the living space.
Firefighters in Mundelein, IL battled a fire in a townhouse on Huntington Drive Sunday evening. Companies were met with heavy smoke and fire in a rear bedroom. Hoarder conditions inside the home hampered search efforts, and the elderly resident was unaccounted for at the scene.

On Tuesday February 18th around 17:40 hours Grand Rapids fire crews along with automatic aid from Walker were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 1700 Block of Alpine Ave NW in 5’s district. Battalion 6 reported a column of smoke from a distance and Engine 9 arrived to a single-story commercial building with heavy smoke showing. Engine 9 and Engine 5 stretched multiple lines for interior fire attack while additional companies opened up and searched. Crews ended up going defensive after fire breached the roof in several places. Truck 3 and Ladder 1 operated their aerial devices while crews operated hand lines to knock down the fire. Crews had the bulk of the fire knocked down after 2 hours.

Fire gutted a three-story apartment building in the Country Glen Apartments at the northernmost edge of unincorporated Cook County, Illinois. What began as a cooking accident in one kitchen, flames spread quickly throughout the 2nd and third floors of the building before firefighters arrived.
