This last job was the best of the trip … heavy fire in a vacant at Pennsylvania and Canfield Andover and Winchester with communication to two others. Interesting response as Hamtramk and Highland Park were due. I finally I got a shot of a Hamtramk rig. This was a good job and a good stop in my opinion. A little deck gun application before we arrived really bought some time.

On Saturday April 25th at approximately 6:55pm Batavia (IL) was dispatched to an automatic alarm at 601 Kingslands Dr. Companies arrived to find heavy smoke in the building, and subsequently upgraded to a general alarm and then to a MABAS box alarm.

The fire was knocked down quickly, but heavy smoke remained throughout the building. A special call was made for the MVU from MABAS Division 1 to assist in ventilation.

This box was a fully-involved vacant at Hampton and Wayburne with no real exposures. They allowed the roof to burn off then hit it with the ladder pipe. Pretty typical job.

These shots are from 2735 Hooker. A fully-involved, vacant dwelling with a severe exposure problem to a two-flat. It still amazes me how well they keep the exposures protected with just a small hand line … usually only from the front. A ladder pipe was setup and this was over pretty quickly.

At around 6am (Saturday 4/25/15), the Harvey FD was called for a structure fire at 150th St & Winchester. Engine 4 was the 1st on scene with a fire in a 25×40, abandoned, 1 1/2-sty frame house. Fire was in the rear and had spread into the attic area. Command requested the Full Still on Box# 3 which brought Riverdale with a squad, Posen with a squad, a deputy chief from Country Club Hills, and safety officer from Flossmoor. The fire was struck out at around 7am. These photos were taken after the fire was struck out.

Took in this Still and Box at around 6am this morning (Saturday, 4/25/15). Engine Co. 115 was the 1st engine on scene and found heavy smoke inside of an unoccupied, one-sty 150×100 grocery store. Upon entry the fire was found to be in the loading dock area with no structural involvement.
