In Hartford, CT while the first-due companies were still operating at a 2-alarm, this building fire was reported at 638 Windsor St. Companies arrived to fire and smoke showing from the front. This was the 2nd WF I’ve been to in this building. Also while this fire was happening mutual aid companies handled another minor building fire. All these fires were in the city’s north end. Here are a few images from an early morning Still & Box at 728 N Lotus Ave in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. Fire through the roof of a vacant 2.5 story frame. Four total lines were led out, E96 utilized their deck gun, and TL23 employed an aerial master stream. Photography was greatly hampered by a mix of sleet and thick brush on the property. I included a combination of natural light as well as flash photos so viewers can see the effect of a camera-mounted flash in rain/sleet/snow. Interesting to note this fire came in as many companies (including TL14) were still committed at a 2-11, 1644 N Spaulding Ave. A full gallery with more images will be live on Friday on our site
