Libertyville (IL) firefighters were called to an address in Green Oaks (their fire district, an unincorporated area of Lake County) after a smoke alarm woke the resident. He looked out the window and saw flames from a van parked alongside the attached garage. The first engine pulled into the driveway six minutes later and dumped the tank through a deck gun as flames were already through the roof. The area has no hydrants and they were subsequently nursed by their tanker and then other tankers shuttled into place. There were no injuries and the fire was kept from communicating to the house.

On 9/4/14 the Libertyville Fire Department was doing training with neighboring departments at 2000 N. Milwaukee Ave. In Libertyville IL. When the training session was over, the departments left to go on with the day. Later in the day there was a reported fire in the same place where the training was done. The fire had reignited and caused the first floor of the building to collapse. Libertyville pulled M.A.B.A.S Box 46-49 to the box alarm level for a structure fire. The alarm was then upgraded to the 2nd alarm for tenders only. Tender operations were utilized.  Crews remained working and they Struck out the box. Here are some Photos I took when I arrived at the scene.

Shortly before 11AM Sunday, May 11th, a motorist reported a vehicle fire up against a garage at the corner of Riverwoods Road and Half Day Road (Route 22) in Lincolnshire, IL. Companies reported a dark header as they got on the road and the alarm was upgraded to a Code 4 for the confirmed fire that had spread to the attached garage and was threatening the home.

Deerfield-Bannockburn Engine 19 was first on the scene followed by Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Engines 51 and 52. A quick attack with a 2 1/2″ line darkened much of the fire and additional lines were put to use effectively holding the fire to the garage.

Units at the scene were Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Engines 51 & 52, Truck 53, Ambulances 52 & 53, Battalion 51, and Rehab 51 in addition to Deerfield-Bannockburn Engine 19, a Libertyville squad, Buffalo Grove Tower 25, an ambulance from Lake Zurich, and Lake Forest Battalion 42

I arrived after the fire had been knocked down.

The Libertyville Fire Department (IL) received a call around 10:15PM on Saturday reporting a barn fire on Bradley Road in nearby Mettawa. Units were dispatched from Libertyville, Lake Forest, and Knollwood. Upon arrival they found fire in one building on the property of a large stable at 855 N. Bradley Road.  Libertyville Quint 462, Engine 463, Engine 461, and the Libertyville tender entered the north driveway, and the Lake Forest engine came in the south driveway. Lake Forest had a hydrant at the street and the Knollwood quint tapped another hydrant near the north driveway to supply the Libertyville companies. Prior to the establishment of secure water sources, the Libertyville tender and the two engines nursed the quint.

Within minutes the alarm was upgraded to a Box Alarm for additional units including water tenders. They made a good stop and did not put the mutual aid water tenders to work.  A second alarm was requested for manpower to assist the companies with extensive overhaul.
