The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods FPD was dispatched for a reported house fire at 4:26AM Thursday morning (1/3/19) on North Apple Hill Lane in Prairie View, IL. Responding units from nearby Station 51 saw a glow in the sky and the response was upgraded to a working fire. Arriving companies found a two-story house that was fully engulfed by fire. The house was believed to be vacant and undergoing some renovation. The ladder pipe from Truck 53 went into service right away along with three hand lines as the entire operation was defensive.

Prospect Heights (IL) firefighters were dispatched at 25 minutes after midnight to a reported fire at 107 North Schoenbeck Road after a passerby spotted smoke coming from the roof area. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the building was charged with smoke and smoke was coming from multiple areas of the roof. A quick search of the building determined it was unoccupied and the fire was in the crawlspace. The fire was quickly extinguished without extension into the walls or ceiling.

The Roberts Park FPD (IL) was called to 8701 W. 85th Place in Justice Sunday night (12/30/18) for fire in a 3rd floor apartment. They eventually elevated the incident to a 4-Alarm fire which gutted the top floor and caused extensive damage to the first and second floors. The fire was in the end section of three buildings separated by firewalls, and though fire did apparently get into one unit of the adjoining building, the remainder of that building plus the end building were saved. Elevated master streams from Bedford Park, Pleasantview, and Evergreen Park trucks on two sides of the building operated for several hours in addition to multiple large lines from the ground and deck guns from Roberts Park and Bridgeview engines.
