My son Chris and I arrived at the fire just before the first engine got water on the fire. The 2 1/2 inch hand line made a quick knock of the main fire. Job well done!
The Troy fire was a box alarm at 18600 S. RT 59.

Here are a few pictures from a fire on Joliet’s (IL) west side Sunday morning (6/7/20). The fire was in the 2100 block of Wesmere Lakes Drive. It appears the fire was in the attached garage and spread to the attic. Engine 9 (using spare 19) Truck 9 (using spare 19 staffed again?) were first due. A total of three lines were used and the roof was opened. Also on scene were Engine 8, Engine 7, Engine 10, Battalion 2, and a few ambulances. Crews did a great job with a quick knock of the fire.
I starting scanning old 35mm photos of fires I have been to over the years and came across these.
This is the River North Art Gallery Fire at 361 W. Superior St. on April 15, 1989. This fire was a 5-11 and either one or two specials. I heard Aerial Tower 3 box it, grabbed my camera and headed for the fire. By the time I got downtown the fire was already a 4-11.
