Nanticoke City, Luzerne County PA 11/07/2014
At approximately 22:00 hours the Luzerne County 911 Center dispatched the Nanticoke City Fire Department along with the Hanover Twp. Fire Department to the address of 311 S. Hanover Street in Nanticoke City for a report of a working house fire. 911 reported that they received multiple calls on this incident. Nanticoke Fire Department arrived on scene moments after dispatch and reported several structures involved with exposure problems. Nanticoke command immediately requested a 2nd alarm assignment to be transmitted. Along with transfer companies.
It took approx. 2hrs for the fire to be placed under control due to heavy fire conditions and the structural stability of the buildings involved. In all, four structures were damaged by the fire. Units remained on scene for several hours for mop up. No injuries were reported. Fire cause is under investigation at this time.
