The other job that we took in was at Lawton X Calvert on 3/10/19. Again Engine 39 stretched and had a very quick knock on a small fire in the basement.

During a last minute trip up to Detroit recently, we made it to a few jobs. Started the trip off by chasing a header on the westside to find an auto going in a vacant lot. After calling 911 and being on hold for some minutes, we finally got a call taker who then dispatched E42. This was at Monica X Westfield on 3/9.

This bunch of photos is from a fire in the 4th Battalion @ Mansfield X Kendall on 3/11/19 in Detroit. Crews had a tough time bringing the fire under control at this one. Big joint, about 50’x75′ with a gambrel roof.

2-24-19:

Chicago FD Ambulance 77 reported smoke from the roof of a 3-sty building at 1838 S. St. Louis 2/24/19. The Main Fire Alarm Office filled it out and gave the 14th Battalion a working fire right away. Engine 38 arrived and had heavy fire showing from a 3-sty brick, three-flat in the rear, extending to the exposure to the south. Battalion 14 boxed it shortly after his arrival. Chicago was experiencing very high winds gusting upwards of 50MPH. After trying to make the 3rd floor, the chief pulled all companies out of the building to regroup. Multiple handlines were dropped from 38 and 109. I believe that the 2-11 was requested for manpower.   A full gallery can be found here

Chicago’s Battalion 19 and companies had a very busy day on the 9th of February. This was their third fire of the day @ 207 E 71st Street. Fire throughout a 75×75 storefront. Four 2.5” landlines were dropped and Squad 5 was put to work. Shortly thereafter, BC19 pulled a box and put Tower 34 to work in the front of the building. I got in there about 30 min into the fire.

Here are a couple pictures from a box alarm in Worth, IL on 2/8/19 in the North Palos Fire Protection District. Fire was on the first floor. First companies had a quick knock. Chicago Ridge Engine 6504 made a few holes in the roof above the stairwells.
