This was a response to the Detroit River and St. Jean for a boat on fire. The first company on scene reported a fire on the old Boblo Boat. Engine 32 stretched over 1000′ of hose to their closest hydrant. Companies took a defensive posture using 2 hand lines and the Detroit Fire Boat E-16. We arrived about 10 min into the incident. Companies on scene were Engines 32 & 52, Ladders 6 & 31, Squads 3 & 6, Fireboat 1 (E-16), and Chief 6.
This fire was 1 block from E46’s firehouse @ Marcus X Grace. Engine 46 advised they were stretching on a commercial building. Engine 58 fed Ladder 23’s aerial, while Engine 41 fed Ladder 31’s aerial. Two master streams and two hand lines were used to knock the fire.
