SEYMOUR, CT – At approximately 8:10 pm on January 19, 2023, the Seymour Fire Department was dispatched to Knorr Avenue for a reported house fire. First companies arriving on scene found a two-story home with heavy smoke showing. All family members along with their dog made it safely out of the home by the time of FD’s arrival. Heavy fire was discovered in the rear of the house extending up all floors into the attic. The fire went to a 2nd alarm. Firefighters also located and safely removed the family’s turtles during operations, and their cat was found to have made it out to safety on its own.
Schaumburg (IL) firefighters were sent to an unknown address on Lunt Avenue, just blocks from Station 53, early Friday evening (1/12/23) for a building fire. They reported a header almost immediately and the Code 3 was upgraded to a Code 4. They went defensive within minutes as there was a partial wall collapse on the east side of the building at 1037 Lune Avenue that had been divided into storage lockers. Both Schaumburg aerials deployed master streams in addition to several hand lines and ground monitors that were in use.

After being dispatched to a working fire at an unknown address because of the volume of 911 calls, firefighters from the North Maine FPD (Des Plaines, IL) followed a header and travelled less than 1/2 mile to 9320 Noel Street in unincorporated Maine Township. They pulled up to heavy fire blowing out what was left of one unit of a four-unit, two-story apartment building. The entire front of the second unit from the street had been blown out. The alarm was upgraded to a Working Fire and then a MABAS Box Alarm, followed within minutes by an upgrade to the 2nd Alarm.
Multiple hand lines and three elevated master streams were used to battle the fire, the majority of which had been knocked down prior to my arrival.
