No people or animals were reportedly injured in a house fire on Wednesday, April 15th in the Town of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Just before 2 PM, the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 1600 block of North 40th Street. The house is located near the town-city boundary.
Firefighters from the City of Sheboygan, Town of Sheboygan, and Village of Kohler fire departments responded to the scene as well as Orange Cross Ambulance, the Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Unit, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office and local utilities. While the home is located in the Town of Sheboygan and is served by the town’s volunteer fire department, units from the career City of Sheboygan Fire Department were first on the scene. Engine 1 responding from the city’s downtown Station 1 reported seeing a header two miles from the fire scene.
The fire reportedly started in the garage but extended into the home. It took several hours to control the fire. The cause and a damage estimate had not been release as of 11 PM Wednesday.
Engine 1, Engine 2, Rescue 3, Ladder 4, Med 3 as well as two battalion chiefs and a deputy chief from the Sheboygan Fire Department responded to the scene to assist the Town of Sheboygan.
