The Downers Grove FD (IL) and auto/mutual aid worked a 2-alarm fire in a church at 525 63rd St in the early morning hours of 7-29-24. Police officers arrived at what originally came in as an AFA and advised that heavy smoke was coming from the building. The alarm was upgraded to a structure fire.
Crews arrived with heavy fire thru the roof from a gas fed fire. The alarm was upgraded to a box, then again to a 2nd alarm. Westmont and Lisle-Woodridge towers were set up and numerous hand lines used to contain the fire.
