2-alarm fire in Manchester, Ct on 4/12/17 at 0354 hours. Dispatchers started receiving calls from drivers passing by on Interstate 84 reporting smoke from a building. First-due Engine 5 arrived to heavy smoke showing from a 1-story, 75 X 150 package store. Car 22 (shift commander) arrived and struck the 2nd with an additional engine and ladder above the 2nd to the fire. They went defensive right away due to the building construction and amount of smoke/fire. Mutual aid from Manchester 8th District D and East Hartford assisted at the scene. Patrick Dooley
