Bridgeport 1165 Central Ave dwelling fire 02/05/17
Bridgeport, CT – Firefighters responded to 1165 Central Ave for a reported structure fire. Companies had a short drive as the firehouse is a block away. The second battalion arrived to find a three-story, Queen Ann style house with heavy smoke showing form the third floor. Companies attempted to make an interior attack, but were driven out by rapidly deteriorating conditions. One wheelchair-bound female was removed during the primary search. Members withdrew and took a defensive posture as heavy fire took control of the third floor. Two ladder pipes and multiple master streams worked on darkening down the fire. The blaze took about an hour to bring under control. The resident was taken to the hospital and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Photos were taken with a Sony cybershot Dsc rx100.
