Excerpts from the Newsdispatch.com:
At 5:08 a.m., the Michigan City Fire Department was dispatched for a reported structure fire at 1216 Tennessee St. MCFD responsed with four engine companies and an aerial unit. Upon arrival, MCFD personnel made entry into the structure where suppression efforts were made. During this time, firefighters breached a wall to look for fire extension and found that the fire had progressed throughout the structure.
