I was right around the corner for this one. Battalion 14 reported smoke showing in the rear of a 1 sty occupied house @ 1635 s Trumbull. It appeared the fire started at the electric meter from a bad hook up on the rear of the house on the back porch. Engine 109 (2nd engine) took the alley and lead out a pre connect line to the rear. Lot of labor to get it all opened up to extinguish the fire. Companies had it all out and under control in about 20 minutes. Here are some shots I took. The rest of the photos are up on our website. Also, found some shell casings in the alley right behind the house, left over from New Years Eve! Chi-Town Fire Photos
Here are some images taken at Chicago’s second still and box alarm on Saturday morning (12/28). This came in at the same time that companies were working at the box on 48th Place. It was interesting to see Squad 1 working at 112th and State Street. Eric Haak

I took in a fire at 6454 S. Wolcott Tuesday morning (12/24/19). Engine 101 arrived with a 2.5 sty frame with fire in the attic. Companies had forcible entry problems due to it being all boarded up. Companies knocked down the bulk of the fire from the outside and then went it to mop up. Both 101 and 116 were lead out and Truck 41 had their main to the roof.
