Police and firefighters responded to a fire with occupants trapped in the City of Lake Geneva, WI (1/19/16). The home was fully engulfed when they arrived and found two adults with a baby who head crawled out onto the roof. The baby was tossed to a police officer and the others climbed down a ladder provided by a neighbor.

January 20, 2016: Story By Vito Maggiolo

A street that saw lots of fire action in days gone by had a fiery blast from the past Wednesday morning, January 20th.

The safety officer was driving in the Shaw neighborhood around 9:30 AM when smoke in the area caught his attention. A search led him to 212 Bates Street NW, where flames were billowing from the top floor of a two-story, occupied, middle row dwelling.

The box was requested, and quickly escalated to a working fire dispatch. Despite the initial heavy fire conditions, the blaze was contained to the second floor of the original dwelling. All of the occupants safely escaped.

Around 8 pm reports of a house on fire in the 2800 block of Glenarye Dr. in Lindenhurst (IL) began flooding FoxCom dispatch. Lake Villa FPD units arrived to find a large, two-story home well-involved. Companies went defensive and protected exposures on both sides. Mutual aid from Antioch, Gurnee, and Newport arrived to assist, but with a combination of the high winds, extreme cold temps, and the body of fire found on arrival, the home was a total loss. Exposures on either side recieved minor damage. Jeff Rudolph
