Cambridge Ontario firefighters responded to a house fire on Sekura Crescent December 15 2015 just after 16:00. P1 was first on scene reporting a fully involved, 1.5-story abandoned house. The 360 revealed the basement was flooded and had heavy fire on the second floor. All firefighting was to be defensive.

Firefighters knocked the bulk of the fire down in an hour. P5 laid in 1,000 feet of 4” high vol from Sekura. The long lay in and low pressure hydrant required a second hydrant to augment the water supply. Firefighters pulled 500 feet of 4” hose through a bush from Kovac Road. Firefighters stood by for hours tending to hot spots and waiting for a high hoe to arrive to tear the building down.

Box 690 on scene 4.5 hours providing rehab and dinner for firefighters.

The Sheboygan Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire in an attached garage at 3309 Hickory Circle just before 5 PM. While firefighters were responding to the scene, police officers reported that the structure was fully engulfed and all occupants were out of the home. When firefighters arrived, the garage was fully engulfed and flames had already extended to the second story bedroom area.

The fire caused about $40,000 in damage to the structure and about $40,000 in damage to its contents. A family of seven was displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross according to the Sheboygan Fire Department.

Not much to see here by the time we arrived, but DCFD companies found smoke on arrival at this two-story, brick duplex. After they made entry a pile of burning clothing was located and extinguished quickly. The address was 3861 Pennsylvania Avenue SE.

While I was in DC last week, I took in a haz mat incident involving an envelope with a white powder that was sent to the Council on American and Islamic Relations (CAIR). Though the substance tested negative, the entry team went through complete decon while I was there. Here is a brief video and some images.
