Box Alarm @ 2676 Buena Vista St

2nd fire of the night at this address. Earlier, companies had a small fire on the first floor of this vacant 4-flat prompting a Box Alarm response. They made an aggressive interior attack and extinguished the fire quickly. Almost 30 minutes after companies left the scene, E42 was sent back for a rekindle. Upon arrival, E42 asked for the Box to be filled out and an extra company for RIT at the same vacant going throughout. The exposure building, an identical vacant, got going in the attic as well. 4 lines were led out. Companies assigned: E42, E40, E39, E44 (RIT), Highland Park E, S5, L17, and C8.

Drone footage of a 2-alarm commercial building fire at 100 Thorpe St. in Fairfield, CT 6/2/15

Shortly after 7:00pm on June 2, 2015, the Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to the old Fairfield Lumber site on Thorpe Street for a building fire. First companies on-scene found fire in the southernmost warehouse of the three buildings. The now-abandoned complex had not been in business for years. The fire would escalate to a 2nd alarm and involve two more warehouses that made up the complex before being put under control by 10:00pm.

Members and apparatus from Bridgeport, Easton, Norwalk, Stratford, and Westport were called in as either manpower at the scene, or station coverage during the blaze. The drone used to take these photos and video was also used by Incident Command to check for hot spots and to see if master streams were being effective.

Stay safe,
