Buffalo Grove (IL) police and firefighters were called to southbound Buffalo Grove Road at Lake Cook Road for a rollover accident Monday (9/5/16) around 12:20PM. Police officers arrived first and reported an SUV on it’s side with a responsive driver that was unable to exit the vehicle. The patient was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Buffalo Grove (IL) police and firefighters were called to the scene of a two-car MVA Wednesday (6/15/16) at noon. Both drivers were injured and damage to the driver’s side of the sedan hampered access to remove the patient so a pin-in response was requested. Two engines, two ambulances, and the battalion were at the crash site in addition to several police officers. Two patients were transported to area hospitals.

A resident called the Buffalo Grove Fire Department (IL) for a fire in the attached garage around 2AM on Friday (5/6/16). Arlington Heights Engine 4 was the first to arrive as the address was very close to their station. They reported a full involved house and hit the garage with their deck gun before deploying a handline. Buffalo Grove Tower 25 arrived perhaps a minute later and deployed a second line. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within minutes as I arrived very shortly thereafter.
The alarm was upgraded to a Code 4 for the working fire after Engine 4 arrived, and then a Box Alarm was requested for additional manpower. The fire was kept from extending into the house.
The residents were outside when firefighters arrived.

I responded to a head-on crash today with Buffalo Grove (IL) Quint 27. We were sent into Long Grove for a reported crash between a car and a semi where the car’s driver was trapped and the engine compartment was on fire. The unconscious driver was freed and later pronounced dead at an area hospital. Firefighters fought the fire and worked to extricate the driver simultaneously. The airbag did not deploy evidently due to the nature of the collision.
