03/27/16 West Haven, CT – A quiet Easter morning quickly turned chaotic as West Haven Firefighters were alerted to a fire in an occupied apartment building. Firefighters were afforded a quick response due to the firehouse being two blocks away. Members arrived to find a top floor apartment fire in a large, three-story, ordinary. Three hand lines were stretched via the interior stairwell to rapidly extinguish the blaze. Primary and secondary searches proved negative and trucks overhauled to bring the fire under control. No one was hurt in the blaze and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the marshal’s office. Most of the residents were allowed back into the building after the fire was out.
