Montgomery County Fire & Rescue units were alerted to the house fire on Tuesday afternoon (6/2/15) on Coltfield Ct. in Gaithersburg. Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire and smoke showing from an end of the row townhouse. The fire extended through two additional town house units in the row, with heavy fire load in the ceilings and walls, causing significant structural damage. The rapid intervention and a working fire task force were dispatched quickly, and a 2nd alarm was sounded to bring more manpower and relief crews.
Units from the 3rd and 5th Battalions operated for a few hours to get the fire completely knocked and to perform overhaul.
Baltimore City fire units were alerted to the dwelling/building fire on Tuesday morning (5/19/15) at the corner of E. Lombard and S. Conkling Streets in the Baltimore Highlands. Upon arrival firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from the 2nd floor and roof of the building. A second alarm was toned out bringing in additional manpower and resources. The fire was quickly knocked and extensive overhaul was performed on a day of hot and humid weather reaching the high 80s. The Baltimore Box 414 Association responded with their canteen rigs to provide hydration and refreshments for the firefighters.

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue (MD) units from the 3rd and 4th Battalions were alerted to a house fire early Friday morning. First arriving units encountered heavy fire showing from a large, single-family home. Crews initiated a fire attack knocking down the fire quickly. The fire was in a non-hydranted area of the Derwood section of the county, and firefighters utilized tankers and a folding supply tank to provide water for the firefight. Command was held by BC 703 and 704.
Firefighters worked for several hours chasing hotspots and performing overhaul. The canteen unit from Laytonsville (Co. 17) provided refreshments and hydration for the firefighting crews.

Montgomery County, NIST, Howard County, Carroll County, and Frederick County units responded to a 50+ acre brush and woods fire on Tuesday (3/31/15) near Damascus Road in Laytonsville, MD. Wind hampered initial efforts to contain the blaze, but firefighters worked hard to gain control and surround the fire preventing it from spreading further. Multiple brush trucks, engine tankers, large capacity tankers, and assorted other apparatus including forestry trucks and tractors worked in tandem on the scene. Company 717 (Laytonsville) worked all of their first line units on the fireground. Fill & dump sites for tankers were established and the brush units filled up at these water supply areas, and then proceeded into the fire zone.

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue units from the 3rd and 5th battalions, plus units from NIST, were toned out for fire in a shop, on Thursday, March 19, on Oakmont Ave. in Gaithersburg. First arriving units reported a commercial auto repair shop building fully involved. The working fire assignment and a rapid intervention dispatch was quickly filled. Firefighters were ordered to use defensive operations due to the amount of fire in the structure. Aerial tower ladders were deployed to protect exposures and the multiple vehicles surrounding the building.
Frederick County Fire & Rescue units were alerted for smoke in the house, Old Middletown Road, Jefferson, MD (Box area 20) on March 3. Dispatch advised units en route that callers were reporting fire showing and possible entrapment. First arriving units on-scene reported fire and smoke coming from the 2nd floor, and it was determined that all occupants had evacuated the structure. Command (Jefferson Chief 20) requested the rapid intervention and tanker task force assignments bringing mutual aid units from Loudoun County.

Box 2800 was toned out for a reported deck fire on Tuesday, Feb. 24 3040 Holmes Run Road in Falls Church, VA. The first arriving units encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the house and a full working fire dispatch was quickly sounded. The house contained a large amount of items and combustibles making the fire difficult to contain. Smoke continued to pour from the house for hours after the initial firefight began. Foam was applied to the house towards the end of the operation.
