Still & Box Alarm in Chicago, IL. At 5:45 Saturday morning, companies were dispatched to 4208 South Wells Street. Engine Co. 16 landed first and reported a 1.5-story frame, 20 x 50 with fire through the roof. Engine’s 16 and 29 used their deck guns to darken down the bulk of the fire and within minutes. All that was needed were a few hand lines to mop up. There was some very minor communication to the “B” side exposure with visible flames along the eave but that was quickly extinguished and further communication prevented.

The Harvey Fire Department (IL) had a 3-Alarm fire in a commercial building Sunday morning (1/19). There was heavy fire on the second floor of the 50 x 75 corner building. Once the main body had been brought under control, there was a ton of overhaul to be done in the frigid temperatures with a lot of hidden fire that needed to be located before being extinguished. The Bloomfield-Genoa City Fire Department in Wisconsin had a 5-Alarm fire in an apartment building Sunday morning (1/5). The call initially came in at 9:00 reporting a first floor apartment’s living room was on fire. First-in units reported the apartment was fully involved and soon after they reported explosions. It looked like the second floor apartment collapsed into the first and fire was through the roof. These pictures were taken over an hour after the original call. Eric Haak
