A quick moving fire in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood awoke residents just before 6:30 Christmas morning. The fire at 104th Place and State Street quickly consumed the attic and second floor of the 2-story frame apartment building. Upon his arrival, the chief of the 22nd battalion reported that he had heavy fire on the second floor and requested a still and box. Companies were met with two frozen hydrants along State Street and had to work to secure a water source which prompted the 2-11. The building was occupied and all residents did escape the fire. The B-side exposure was heavily damaged as well. Eric Haak
