John Tulipano was in Detroit recently and submitted images from the trip.
Just returned from a trip to the “D”!
We made 20 fires over a 3 day run… I’ve taken 1000 photos with my new camera, so I have much to sort thru … we had a very successful trip. I have included some shots from a 2nd Alarm at Fullerton and Lawton (see description below borrowed from Dennis Walus)
On Thursday October 24th 2013 at Aprox 0030 hours Detroit 5th Battalion companies responded to a reported vacant dwelling fire at Fullerton & Lawton. Upon on arrival a vacant two-family flat was found heavily involved extending to an occupied four-story apartment building. Defensive operations were started on the original fire building. Chief 5 then requested a 2nd Alarm. Water tower operations were set up on the (2) vacant two-family flats involved while companies performed an interior attack on the exposure apartment building with fire on the 3rd and 4th floors. An aggressive attack was preformed on the apartment building and defensive operations continued for aprox. 2 hours to bring the original buildings under control. Engines 40/39/35/44/42 Ladder 17/18 Squads 5/4 Tac 2 Chief 5/8 & 203 responded to this incident
