On 1/10/15 Glastonbury, Ct responded to 508 Chimney Sweep Hill Rd at 1215 hours for a car fire in the garage. First officer on-scene reported fire and heavy smoke showing from the garage and extending into the house. Many mutual aid tankers assisted with a water shuttle.

Hartford, Ct responded to 22-24 Hamilton St at 1925 hours for a report of a fire on floors 2 & 3. A second source reported people trapped. Engine 15 reported a working fire on their arrival. District 1 struck the 2nd alarm on his arrival. One child was rescued and transported to the hospital along with a firefighter and police officer. Very soon after companies arrived they had a partial collapse of the rear and floors 2 & 3 of the B side. Fire also extended to the D side exposure along with numerous cars and trees in the rear yard. Three tower ladders were put to work along with numerous landlines.

I was one of two photographers requested by the Hartford, Ct. FD to take pictures of the funeral of Firefighter Kevin Bell who died while operating at a 2nd alarm fire at 598 Blue Hills Ave. on 10/7/14. While these pictures are not of the fire they are the reality of what can and does happen to members while operating at fires. It was an honor to take the pictures while at the same time it is an uncomfortable experience.

Manchester, Ct responded to 77 Laurel St for smoke in the basement and arrived to heavy smoke showing. A 2nd alarm was struck when the fire extended from the basement to floors #1 and #2.

East Hartford, CT had this 3rd alarm at 15 Bell Ct. on 10/4/14 @0630. Members made numerous rescues via ground ladders with people jumping as well. 5 civilians were transported to local hospitals.
