Fifteen fire departments were called to the scene of a five-alarm fire on Wilmot Road in Salem (WI) on Wednesday, June 8th. More than 52,000 gallons of water had to be used to bring that fire under control. The building where it happened is a total loss after the blaze.

Northbrook (IL) firefighters responded to an accident Saturday afternoon (5/21/16) in the intersection of Dundee and Waukegan Roads for a collision between a car and a motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was thrown through the car’s windshield and was alert when he was transported to Lutheran General Hospital after being extricated.

North Maine FPD companies responded just after 9AM this morning (5/19/16) to 9955 Linda Lane in unincorporated Des Plaines for an explosion. What is being called a gas explosion caused significant damage to a three-story building. A TRT Box Alarm was requested to the 3rd level for technicians and an EMS Box Alarm was pulled as a precaution. One firefighter and one civilian were reported to be transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

Linn Township FD (WI) had live-fire training Saturday, 3/5/16. They conducted several burns in the house and the garage. Departments involved included Lake Geneva, Delevan, Fontana, City of Delevan and the Hebron Alden Greenwood FPD.

Chicago firefighters battled a 4-11 Alarm fire with a Special Alarm for two additional chiefs and three additional trucks at 4540 W. Haddon Avenue at a flea market. The building measured approximately 100×200 and was bordered on one side by railroad tracks that were on an embankment even with the roof f the one-story building. Part of the structure was a covered parking garage with additional parking on the roof. Several of the cars fell into the building as the roof sections collapsed.

Tower Ladder 14 had their brand new E-ONE unit and new Air Mask Unit 6-4-6 was also at the scene. Aerial Tower 1, the only straight ladder with a pre-piped waterway was called to the scene as well at Turret Wagon 6-7-6. The fire was dispatched around 9:30 am and was struck out in the early evening, though relief companies were at the ruins all night.
