Schaumburg (IL) companies were sent to the SB IL Route 53 local lanes at I90 just after midnight on Wednesday (6/8/16) for fire in a semi-trailer. They encountered fire in a 40′ trailer that was fully-loaded with commercial uniforms. Battalion 5 requested two tankers from neighboring departments to supply Engine 52 with two lines off. Units on the scene included four engines, two tankers, two trucks, one squad, one chief, and two ambulances supplying manpower during the almost two-hour process to remove the smoldering contents of the truck.

A resident called the Buffalo Grove Fire Department (IL) for a fire in the attached garage around 2AM on Friday (5/6/16). Arlington Heights Engine 4 was the first to arrive as the address was very close to their station. They reported a full involved house and hit the garage with their deck gun before deploying a handline. Buffalo Grove Tower 25 arrived perhaps a minute later and deployed a second line. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within minutes as I arrived very shortly thereafter.
The alarm was upgraded to a Code 4 for the working fire after Engine 4 arrived, and then a Box Alarm was requested for additional manpower. The fire was kept from extending into the house.
The residents were outside when firefighters arrived.

Chicago firefighters were called to a laundromat at 5130 W. Fullerton Avenue after 2AM Monday morning (4/4/16) and found heavy fire in a one-story, 60×100, commercial building with a bow-string truss roof. The building had no immediate exposures with parking lots on either side. After venting the roof, companies went defensive with Tower Ladder 14 setup to the west and Squad 2A to the east. There was a special call for an additional tower ladder which brought Tower Ladder 23 to the front of the building. Two multi-versals and the three elevated master streams inundated the building with water for two hours.
Heavy fire vented out the front of the building burning a car parked at the curb. The utility company was called to shut off gas to the building as a gas fed fire burned freely near the front.
