Here are a few images from the 2-11 at 25th and Sacramento this afternoon in Chicago (1/30/19). Companies made an aggressive interior attack and went defensive as I was walking up. The first image was taken only a couple minutes after the companies evacuated the building and it appeared conditions deteriorated rapidly.

Chicago firefighters battled fire in a commercial building at 4749 W. Lake Street just after midnight Monday (2/12/18). The fire was discovered by Truck 29 while returning to quarters from a Still & Box Alarm fire. Flames had already engulfed the entire building and the alarm was eventually elevated to a 2-11. The building collapsed shortly after companies went to work. Two multi-versals along with elevated master streams from Tower Ladder 5, Tower Ladder 14, Squad 2A and Truck 29 were deployed. One member from the 5-11 Club Support Service Unit was injured after loosing his balance on a patch of ice and was transported to a hospital.

Tuesday (10/25/16), 2047 Cermak Rd. in Chicago. One-story restaurant with exposures to two similar. There was heavy fire in the rear of the building when companies arrived and the fire eventually consumed the entire building of origin, but due to solid brick walls between sides A and D the fire seemed confined to only one structure. This is normally a congested, densely populated neighborhood and the sidewalks are elevated, making the gangways 1/2-story below ground as well as allowing for some unusual basement access.TL 5, Squad 1, a multi-versal and a point of vantage line were used and heavy smoke conditions were present for well over an hour. This was an interesting job that yielded some nice images. The video as well as all the images can be seen here
