Chicago Fatal 2-11 Apartment Fire: At about ten minutes to 9:00 this morning, Chicago’s Main Fire Alarm Office gave a working fire response followed by a Still & Box Alarm to Hutchinson and Cicero. The fire was in a third floor apartment that was part of a 3-story, U-shaped courtyard building. The fire extended into the cockloft and was elevated to a 2-11. Shortly afterward the fire was brought under control. Unfortunately, there was a fatality with this incident.

Here are some images from a working fire on the corner of 90th and Marshfield in Chicago this morning (1/2). A valiant effort was made to save the family dog with CPR being performed for 15 minutes but to no avail.

At 0445 Sunday morning (12/23), Chicago FD Engine 75 landed at 117th and LaSalle Street and reported they had a fire in a 2.5-story frame. A few minutes later, Battalion 22 asked for a box and stated he had fire in two buildings. There was a fair amount of fire in the attic of the frame structure as companies forced entry but they eventually were able to access the attic and knock it down before the fire could gain any headway.

Here are some images from a Mabas Box Alarm fire in Calumet Park, IL Saturday morning (12/22) at 12320 S. Page Street. The fire came in at 0600 and the back end of the building was already fully involved when the first companies landed. The nearest hydrant was over 1,000 feet from the structure and companies had to go in line to supply water.

Chicago had a 2-11 Alarm fire at 6417 N Ravenswood this afternoon (12/22). The fire was in a 1-story commercial structure and was contained mostly to the 75×75 rear section that had a truss roof. The fire eventually burned through the roof and Tower Ladder 23 and the new Tower Ladder 21 were used to bring the fire under control.

At a little after 0300 Sunday morning (12/23), Engine 101 landed with a fire in a 1-story, 65×100 truss roof trucking company at 74th and Bell Avenue. Battalion 20 boxed the fire less than a minute later and it would eventually be raised to a 2-11 Alarm. The building was a total loss. Engines 101, 15, 123, and 54 were all pumping at this incident and Tower Ladders 39 and 54 along with Squad 5’s Snorkel were in use as well.

A working fire at 54th and Ashland in Chicago on Sunday morning (11/11/18) just before dawn. It appeared that someone had set the window of a business on fire as well as an auto in the alley. The fire did appear to get inside a litttle but was quickly extinguished. Companies were Battalion 6, Engine 116, Tower Ladder 39, Engine 123, Truck 33, Battalion 15 RIT with Truck 18.
